Edit Me Challenge - Tulips

This week's Edit Me Challenge photo was taken by guest judge Diane.  Very pretty tulips, Diane!

I opted to do a simple edit with an effect called Century.  I just love the velvety (is that a word?) look that the flowers take with the sepia tones.  So ethereal and timeless.

And that's all, no crops or sharpening this time.  :)

Majestic

Seeing the sunbeams break through the clouds like that is breathtaking.  It always makes me think of the majesty of God.  He is THE artist and my husband and I love capturing His works of art.

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
And You are exalted as head over all.

Edit Me Challenge - Beach Baby

This week's Edit Me Challenge photo is from the guest judge Kat.

I love the cute simplicity of this one!

All I did was crop the photo to bring focus to the baby girl.

Then I sharpened it using Unsharp Mask. 

Lastly I used a preset called Mountain to brighten up the colors.

I like simple edits on pretty pictures and think this is a keeper.  :)

Rustic

What remains of an old gravel pit.  My husband remembers watching fireworks here one Independence Day as a kid.

Blossom Bouquet

The cherry blossoms in our backyard are one of my favorite signs of spring.  I love the white fluffy bunches of future sweet delicious cherries!

Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, because

“All flesh is as grass,
And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.
The grass withers,
And its flower falls away,

But the word of the Lord endures forever.”

Edit Me Challenge - Beach Tree

This week the Edit Me Challenge picture is from guest judge Alicia.

I didn't make too many adjustments for this picture.

First thing I did was sharpen the image.

Next I used a preset B&W adjustment called Anvil.

And last, but not least, I adjusted the curves level to lighten it up some.

And that's all the editing I did.  I like how it looks so dramatic.

April Showers

I like how this picture captured the rain as it moved in.  Needless to say, we were all pretty wet by the time we made it back to our car.

And I had forgotten to bring Squishydoo's raincoat, so she was particularly wet and a bit doggy smelling for the ride home.  :)
